ss1 4 38 unipolar hall switch 2 v 3.1 0 nov 1 , 20 1 3 general d e scription the ss1438 is a uni polar hall effect sensor ic fa b- ricated from mixed signal cmos technology. the de v i c e i n teg r a t es a vo l ta g e r e gu l ato r , h a l l s en s or w i th d y na m i c of f s et c an c e l l a t i on s y s te m , s c h m i tt t r i gger and a n ope n - d r a i n out put d ri ve r , a l l i n a s i n- g l e pa c k age. it incorporates advanced chopper stabilization tec h- niques to provide accurate and stable magnetic switch points. there are many applications for this hed ? hall electronic device - in addition to those listed abov e. thanks to its wide operating voltage range and extended choice of temperature range, it is quite suitable for use in automotive, industrial and consumer applications. the device is delivered in a small outline transi s- tor (sot) for surface mount process or in a plastic single in line ( sip flat) for through - hole mount. both 3 - lead packages are rohs compliant. glossary of terms millitesla (mt) , gauss units of magnetic flux density: 1mt = 10 gauss rohs restriction of hazardous substances operating point (b op ) magnetic flux density applied on the branded side of the package which turns the output driver on (v out = v dson ) release point (b rp ) magnetic flux density applied on the branded side of the package which turns the output driver off (v out = high)
